Overview
The Network Administrator focuses on network and communications services administration. They ensure the stability, reliability, speed, and integrity of in-house and vendor provided voice, data, video, wired, and wireless services.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Associate degree or higher in a technology related field and at least three years’ experience working a technology related position OR at least five years’ experience working in a technology related position.
- Successful work experience in a public education school district.
- Ability to develop and maintain positive, professional relationships with staff, students, and vendors.

Essential Functions
- Assists the Director of Technology in the development of short- and long-term technology goals and strategies that are driven by the District’s strategic plan, focusing primarily on networking.
- Maintains a support and maintenance plan for all network components.
- Assists the Director of Technology in planning and implementing business continuity planning and disaster/failure recovery procedures.
- Coordinates the work of vendors and contractors supplying goods and services for network and infrastructure.
- Coordinates and manages the District’s Internet connections and local area networks, including the firewall.
- Performs a variety of technical and resource services in the installation, operation, monitoring, troubleshooting, diagnosis and repair of networks, software updates of network components and provides user support assistance.
- Ensures the stability, reliability, and integrity of voice data, video and wireless network services and devices.
- Participates in installing, monitoring, maintenance, support and optimization of all network hardware, software, LAN and communications services.
- Troubleshoots and maintain network devices.
- Ensures the security of technology and data systems.
- Maintains automated monitoring of network and server performance and reliability.
- Monitor technology standards for networking.
- Ensure compliance with licenses for network components.
- Provide users with consistent high quality, reliable and friendly customer service.
- Attend meetings and professional development as appropriate or directed.
- Other duties as assigned.
FLSA Status: Exempt
Reports to: Director of Technology
Schedule: 260 days per school year, M-F, 7:30-4:30 (flexibility required for emergencies or other scheduled needs).
Salary: $108,399-$122,004 annually, depending on experience.
Benefits: 12 sick leave days; 15-25 vacation days; 12 paid holidays; health insurance through the School Employees’ Benefit Board including medical, dental, vision, life, and long-term disability insurance for employee and dependents, State retirement through the Department of Retirement Systems.
