Summer school dates will be June 24th thru July 25th, Monday thru Thursday. Hours: 7:30am - 1:00pm

This will be for up to 3 positions. Hours will vary based on enrollment.

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Food Services Director, this position performs work related to setting-up, preparing and serving food, and clean-up activities while maintaining sanitary conditions.  In addition, the Food Service II position may be required to prepare recipes from scratch and/or be responsible for commodities and/or be responsible for production records.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Depending upon individual assignment, the Food Service II performs all or a combination of several of the following duties:

1. Make necessary preparation for preparing and serving meals, help unload van, keep appropriate food either hot or cold, and set up serving lines.

2.      Directs assigned personnel, students, workers and/or volunteers.

3.      Cleans utensils, equipment and the areas of storage, food preparation and serving.

4.      Store and dispose of unused food and get ready for transport.

5.      Ability to transport a minimum of 40LB food containers.

  1. Order supplies and goods necessary for serving meals; provide inventories to main kitchen when appropriate.        

7.      Keep check on refrigerator and freezer temperatures.

8.      Responsible for daily participation counts and amounts of food used.

9.      Prepare food from recipes.

10.    Be responsible for the organization and delivery of commodities.

11.    Prepare production records.

12.    Performs related duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

School cafeteria environment for all age students.  Requires frequent standing, walking, and sitting.  Must be able to speak, hear and see.  Be able to work efficiently while experiencing frequent interruptions and schedule changes.  Required to deal with a wide range of situations, behaviors, and information.  Required to deal with a wide range of situations, behaviors, and abilities. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people.

Must have prior school food service experience.

The ability to pass a federal background check.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/LICENSES:  Must possess a current State of Washington Department of Health Food Handler's Certificate.

REPORTS TO: Director of Food Services

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  Hours per day and days per week to be determined by the Director of Food Services and the Personnel Office.  Salary and benefits according to adopted salary schedule.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of Washington State.
