Salary: The Hourly Rate range for the position is: Min.$16.65 - $19.30 Salary placement will be at Step 1 of the Nine Mile Classified Public Employees Association Collective Bargaining Agreement unless documentation of experience is received per the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Benefits: Each employee shall accumulate up to twelve (12) days of sick leave per year. An employee employed less than a full work year shall be entitled to a proportionate part of the sick leave allowance. (Example: An employee working 10 months will receive 10 days of sick leave.) A maximum of three (3) Annual Leave days are provided for all employees based on the employee’s scheduled employment hours per day to be used for an absence during work hours, or to be accumulated for the purpose of cash out.

Employees anticipated to work more than 630 hours per year will be eligible for Benefits through the School Employees Benefits Board (SEBB) Standard benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, and Long-Term Disability. Positions anticipated to work 70 hours or more per month for at least 5 months over a 12-month period are eligible for Retirement through the State Department of Retirement Services.

Work Day / Work Year: 10:30-12:30 on days that lunch is served
                                       The start date is to be determined

Work Location: Lakeside Middle School

Nature and Scope of Job:  (1 or 2 sentence summary of position): 
Supervise students in the cafeteria during lunch. Supervise students in the hallway and outside during lunch recess.  Assist in maintaining a clean and safe cafeteria.

Classification:  Aide

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Required Qualifications (Traits, Education, Experience, Training, physical requirements, etc.):

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. WSP/FBI Background Clearance.
  3. Ability to communicate and work with others.
  4. Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Desired Qualifications

  1. Self-motivated and enjoys working with kids.
  2. Sound mental, moral, and ethical character.     

Primary Job Function

  1. Monitor students during the duration of the lunch period.
  2. Address inappropriate student behavior.
  3. Monitor the hallway, bathroom, and outside.
  4. Help assist in cleaning the cafeteria.
  5. Maintain a professional level of confidentiality.
  6. Other duties as assigned.

Equipment Used

  1. Cleaning chemicals, water.
  2. Wash rags, mops, brooms, dust pans.

Environmental Demands:

  1. Standing, sweeping, wiping off tables.
  2. Lifting and moving tables
  3. Air-conditioned building. 
  4. Fluorescent lighting.
