Description

This position provides application development as well as third party application/system support. Must have strong customer service and analytical skills. 

  • HOURS PER DAY:  8
  • YEAR-ROUND POSITION (260 DAYS / 12 MONTHS)
  • ANTICIPATED START DATE: ASAP

SALARY:  Level 3 on the Exempt Technical Salary Schedule.  Salary depends on experience in the same or similar position. Responsibilities

1. Develop, support, and maintain web/database applications for the District Internet and Intranet.

2. Design and maintain database schemas.

3. Coordinate consistent webpage design, content creation, and overall website usability and appearance using the District’s CMS application.

4. Write custom client-server applications and import/export/conversion scripts.

5. Research, coordinate and facilitate 3rd party software acquisition and implementation.

6. Facilitate communication between district users and 3rd party vendors.

7. Build integrations with, support, and maintain district and third-party applications.

8. Follow emerging technologies; make technology and product recommendations and provide web, programming, and database-related technical assistance.

9. Have familiarity with how cloud systems are deployed securely, efficiently, while maintaining system architecture and design.

10. Learn how to ensure efficient functioning of data storage and process functions in accordance with district security policies and best practices in cloud and on-premise security.

11. Other task and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

1. Four or more years successful college or technical education in related fields. Equivalent work experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

2. Two or more years’ experience in application development, analysis, and support.

3. Proficient with two of the following languages: C#, ASP.NET, Java, or SQL.

4. Must be familiar with object oriented multi-tier development.

5. Excellent problem-solving skills.

6. Ability to work independently without close supervision concurrently on more than one task.

7. Communicate effectively, both written and orally.

8. Ability to work as part of a team.

9. Coordinate effectively with users, co-workers, and management at all levels.

10. Monitor progress of projects.

11. Conduct workshops and provide training on developed and supported applications.

12. Ability to work hours other than 8 to 5 including occasional evenings and weekends to provide the district access to critical systems during school/business hours.

13. Access to personal transportation.

2. Windows Server knowledge, Active Directory knowledge, and Windows Security knowledge.
